Race report and photos from the 2016 Detroit SX, round eleven of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
It’s hard to believe we are already at round eleven of the Monster Energy Supercross Series, and this weekend the show rolled into the “Motor City” Detroit Michigan before the riders get a break next weekend. The midwestern fans were treated to another exiting night of Supercross racing, and almost in the same style as last weekend we had some wild moments in both classes.
First off was last week’s race winner Justin Hill going down in practice, and getting banged up enough to not be able to line up and race the night show.
Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin also had a night to forget, going down twice and also making a pit stop to finally finish in 13th position. GEICO Honda’s Malcolm Stewart took advantage and rode a clutch main event for a win, and it was extra special as he was under the weather all weekend and now walks away with the red plate as a reward.
Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey took another commanding win in the 450SX class, but then in a turn of events was docked two positions for jumping on a red cross flag, handing the win to Rockstar Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson. What a night!
