Congratulations to Danny Kent, who has now become the first British motorcycling Grand Prix champion for 38 years, the last Brit to win was Barry Sheene in 1977.
Kent, 21 years old from Wiltshire, won the Moto3 Championship with a six point lead after finishing ninth in Saturday’s race in Valencia.
“It’s an amazing feeling, a dream come true. You need luck, a great bike and a great team behind you.” Said Kent
Its hasn’t always been plain sailing for Danny, in 2013 his dad Martyn was diagnose with cancer and given only 12 weeks left to live. With the pressures of Moto2 life and struggling to cope with his dad’s illness, Kent’s results tumbled and was highly criticised by the media and his peers for his poor season.
