Harley kicks off major advertising campaign with March Madness.
Late last year Harley-Davidson executives began promising an aggressive marketing campaign in response to challenging motorcycle sales and it looks like March Madness will kick it off.
‘I’m taking the HD to the Y to play some B’Ball with the boys’ is a phrase that would apparently be music to the ears of Harley-Davidson. Reports that Harley-Davidson is breaking a global campaign Thursday during the opening round of the NCAA men’s college basketball tournament were confirmed with a press release this morning.
“It is a premier media property during the start of our key selling season, and it appeals to a wide audience here in the U.S.,” Dino Bernacchi, Harley-Davidson U.S. marketing communications director told Marketing Daily.
If this avenue of advertising sounds unusual to seasoned Harley riders, it is. This is the first time the legendary motorcycle manufacturer has debuted a new campaign during March Madness.
