Ryan Dungey, first across the finish line, penalized two positions
The pattern for much of the 2016 Monster Energy/AMA Supercross Series has been that Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey finishes first or second (he has one third place this year), and in three of the five races he hasn’t won, RCH Suzuki’s Ken Roczen has.
Musquin relinquished the lead to Dungey on lap two through the whoops, and that was all she wrote, as Dungey took off to win his sixth race of the season.
Well, at least that is what it seemed. After the podium ceremonies, the AMA announced it had penalized Dungey two positions for failing to adhere to a red-cross flag that was displayed on lap seven for a downed rider in a jump section.
